Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of policygen.app and any related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by PolicyGen ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

PolicyGen is a web application that generates privacy policies, terms of service, and cookie policies based on information you provide. The Service is available in two tiers:

• Free — Generate a Privacy Policy document. No account required. Copy as text or HTML.
• Pro — One-time payment of USD $19. Unlocks all three document types (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy), GDPR/CCPA compliance clauses, custom effective dates, and file downloads (.txt and .html).

An account is required only to access Pro features. You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at privacy@invoicebench.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Pro Licence & Payment

The Pro upgrade is a one-time, perpetual licence for a single user account. It is not a subscription.

• Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Prices are shown in USD and are exclusive of any applicable taxes.
• The Pro licence is tied to your account and is non-transferable.

Refund policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, email privacy@invoicebench.com within 7 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion.

5. Licence to Generated Documents

Documents generated through the Service are provided for your own use. You may freely use, copy, modify, and publish the generated documents on your own website or application. You do not need to credit PolicyGen.

You may not resell or redistribute the generated templates as standalone products or as part of a competing document-generation service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service's source code or templates
• Use automated scripts to generate large volumes of documents for resale
• Misrepresent generated documents as independently drafted legal documents
• Interfere with or disrupt the infrastructure of the Service

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, branding, and template structure, is owned by PolicyGen and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the generated documents will be legally sufficient in your jurisdiction.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PolicyGen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or the documents generated by it — including but not limited to regulatory fines, legal fees, or loss of business — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $19, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. If your account is terminated for breach, no refund will be issued. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PolicyGen is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
